ABOUT PROJECT

As a Director for The Hunter Young Professionals from 2013 – 2015, I oversaw the rebrand of Newcastle & Hunter Junior Chamber to Hunter Young Professionals, including the naming strategy, creative direction, website, stakeholder management and public roll out.

In 2014, I identified an opportunity to connect our highly engaged membership base to community projects seeking professionally-skilled volunteers and established a formal strategic alliance with business advocacy group, Newcastle NOW.

Responsibilities have also included managing the communications sub-committee, sponsor account management and organising numerous events for the young leaders of Newcastle. The end-to-end event management involved developing concepts for topics, approaching potential speakers and venues, managing promotions and RSVPs, budgets, contingency planning and hosting.

Event highlights included:

× Being the first public event held at The Edwards, resulting in sold-out ticket sales less than a fortnight after going on sale

× Securing the first official speaking engagement from the founders of HUNTERhunter and unveiling their identity to the public

× An audio/visual street party in Hunter Street Mall to see out 2015 (and my term as a director!)
