NEW YEARS EVE AND AUSTRALIA DAY MARKETS

MARKETS EVENT MANAGER (2016/2017)

Newcastle welcomed in the New Year and celebrated Australia Day in 2017 on the beautiful Honeysuckle Foreshore.

Talk To Bec was contracted by Newcastle City Council to curate and manage the market stall zone within the celebration precinct.

New Years Eve featured a selection of popular food trucks and vendors in the Lee Wharf Carpark under festoon lighting with with entertainment by roving performer and stilt walker Hannah Indigo.

The Australia Day markets sprawled over the Worth Place lawn, with green and gold balloons, pool inflatables, beach chairs and umbrellas to celebrate the Aussie summers day and create a comfortable experience for punters.

As the event manager for this zone we were responsible for:

+ Curation of market stall holders

+ Site planning and set up

+ Theming

+ Bump in and bump out of stall holders

+ Event management

“I want to give a huge shout out to Bec for organising a great market today at the Honeysuckle foreshore for Australia Day. We had an easy bunk in, a trouble free day and a smooth and quick exit… all of the things that a stallholder wants to have. I know in future I will happily attend any event she organises. Thank you Bec.”

– Carl Hensel, The Hensel Collection

“I just wanted to touch base after NYE Newcastle. Thanks so much! We had a fabulous night and were very busy. The market was well run and all the staff were helpful and efficient. I would love to be involved in any other Events you have coming up.”

– Kylie, Kylie Luke Creations

“Was very surprised at how well it went with all the extra food stalls there. Your staff did a brilliant job. By the look at all the lines of people waiting everyone would have done well, including us… sold out again. Looking forward to the next one.”

– Jieling & Pete, Ling’s Home Kitchen
